“Strains of Violin” among the girls of Antodaya Basti Vikas Kendra, Delhi

The Anti Trafficking Unit at Apne Aap Delhi was filled with the strains of violin of Sara Michieletto and the ringing excitement of the girls from our Kishori Mandal- Asha ki Kiran. On the 10th of February the girls of the Kishori Mandals danced and sang and let their hair down responding wonderfully positively to the music of Sara Michieletto a famous violinist from Venice, Italy. It was a day of fun, of music, of self expression, of shedding inhibitions about the body, of letting go and allowing self healing.

Mandalas of the Soul- an art workshop leading up to an exhibition; Antodaya Basti Vikas Kendra, Delhi

The workshop was conducted over 3 days February 8-10, 2010 at the Antodaya Basti Vikas Kendra Delhi. Gizella Varga Sinai the artist provided her time and conducted this workshop. She has facilitated the workshop the result of which is “resplendent mandalas” as Gizella calls them by the adolescent girls. The girls confessed to having experienced art for the first time through a wonderful self healing journey over the 3 days. They can’t wait for Gizella to come back for a second round.
