A red light area

Kamathipura, Mumbai was the largest red-light area in Asia; it’s a criss cross of 12 lanes between two railway stations. Today Sonagachi, Kolkata is expanding.
Women and girls are kept locked in small four by four foot rooms, with no windows
The women are made to service 15-20 men a day for less than USD 1 a day
They are subjected to rape, physical abuse, torture, violence, repeated abortions
They are extremely vulnerable to life-threatening diseases like HIV, TB and Hepatitis.
They were sold, seduced, tricked, duped, coerced or forced into this life of sexual slavery most often by a known and trusted person among their family and friends.
The trafficker paid less than $100 for them.
