Background:

Apne Aap India World Wide Trust is an organisation which works with women and girls from the most at risk, vulnerable and socio-economically marginalised populations and with Denotified tribes, where there is a prevalence of intergenerational prostitution and forceful trafficking of women and girls. A2W2 works by implementing a ‘3 L’ (access to Learning, Livelihoods and Legal Protection) model to prevent trafficking. This provides women and girls with more choices, through a rights based approach. A2W2 currently implements programs in New Delhi, Bihar, and Calcutta currently. As per our business plan, during the next five years, we aim at expanding to other states where trafficking of women is prevalent.

 

Summary of the Position:

The “Research Officer” will report to the Head of Monitoring & Evaluation/ Documentation & Research. The Job profile will include assisting in the research, monitoring & evaluation and database management. The Research officer will also be in charge of managing all data security processes. The position holder will have to deliver in a timely manner. The position will be based at the organisation’s Head Office in Delhi.

 

Associated responsibilities

  • Manage data processes including:
  • Cleaning datasets and ensuring consistency with previous rounds of data
  • Prepare datasets for further analysis, publication, and dissemination
  • Assist in the improvement of surveying and data entry processes, as too guarantee high-quality data
  • Managing all documentation of data processes
  • Manage all data-security processes for the studies undertaken from all field offices, including encryption of data, back-ups, and storage.
  • Manage qualitative and quantitative data both (soft and hard copies).
  • Set up a computerized database to compile all beneficiary information
  • Responsible for overseeing and evaluating beneficiary information database. 
  • Facilitate rolling of data collection processes
  • Assist in finalizing study tools
  • Assist in field based studies
  • Preliminary data analysis
  • Preliminary secondary research, incl. lit reviews
  • Assisting in finalizing MIS tools
  • Assisting in training related to M&E and documentation
  • Assist in documentation of field events
  • Assist in preparing donor reports
  • Collect report from field offices
  • Generate on request relevant information extracted from the database, such as statistical figures, mapping or pre-filled reports
  • Explore, propose and develop new tools for improvement of the existing system, in the scope of project enhancement
  • Undertake field monitoring visits on determined checklist/formats.
  • To advice project staffs on methods of accessing information and to provide in house training to staff on proper data collection and use of MIS database.
  • Provide required data timely to the technical people for set up a better program management system in place.
  • Support the team members to document and format case studies on beneficiaries and activities of the project
  • Ensure confidentiality of information related to the project

 

Required Qualification:

  • Minimum Post Graduation in relevant field
  • Minimum of 3 years of proven experience in similar profile; experience with International and / OR local NGOs is advantage.
  • Strong experience with Office Automation software (Excel, Word)
  • Experience in Statistical Data Analysis Packages preferred (SPSS),

 

Core skills/competencies:

  • Fluency in English required
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Rigor and good attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Familiarity with Data Management and quality control
  • Some statistical training preferred, but not essential.
  • Proven capacity to prepare adequate time-bound work plans, and to follow them up, capacity to prioritize tasks and delegate
  • Good interpersonal and team effectiveness skills;

 

Expected Remuneration: Rs. 40,000 to 50,000/- per month (subject to TDS as per GoI rules)
